DFW – Come party with us Second Weekend of THE AVENGERS at Texas Theatre – and free wallpapers for ya!

Hey Dallas/Ft. Worth peeps, did you miss our advance screening last week for Marvel’s THE AVENGERS? It was amazing to say the least. Did you not come out to our opening night party at The Texas Theatre last Friday? you didn’t?? You didn’t get free comic books and movie posters from us last Friday? Well shucks. Not to worry, we’re giving you a second chance! The historic Texas Theatre, normally known as a repertory cinema house, has gone a little mainstream with THE AVENGERS, and we’re helping them do it up in style. Bigfanboy.com is hosting a special “Second Weekend” party, and we’ll be giving away all sorts of cool stuff – comics donated by local retailers, posters from Marvel movies, t-shirts from various blockbuster films, and more. Everyone is going to walk away with something cool. You don’t have to do anything special, just buy a ticket and be there for either the 7:15pm show OR the 10:15pm show on May 11, 2012. Show up in costume and get an extra special prizes (of some sort). We want this to be a fun night for hardcore Marvel Comics fans, so get yourself in a party mood and join us Friday evening for all the fun.

A few notes – if you’ve never been to the Texas Theatre, this is a great place to see movies in a classic environment. Painstakingly restored by the fine folks at Aviation Cinemas, the main house features an impressive 650 seats. Perhaps best known in history as the location where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested, you’ll immediately feel the nostalgia upon entering the doors of this stylish building. The Texas Theatre also has a full bar and plenty of lounge seating, which is a great place to have a drink and talk about the film you’re about to see… or just saw! For those wondering, THE AVENGERS will not be shown in 3D here, though speaking as someone who has seen it that way, the 3D doesn’t really add much… you’ll never miss it.

And to get you even more hyped up, here’s some hi-res wallpapers for your desktop compliments of Bigfanboy.com!
