Early buzz is pretty positive, with many people saying the third act easily makes up for any of the shortcomings the first two acts have. Check out the video below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

THE AVENGERS is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.

SYNOPSIS: Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers” is the superhero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

The first clip features Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) chatting with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) while the Asgardian villain occupies The Hulk’s holding cel.

The next clip features a fight between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in the woods, in which The God of Thunder’s lightning blast has an unusual effect on Tony Stark’s armor.

And finally, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor battle the Chitauri aliens within the city, in what looks like a small piece of a much bigger and more fierce battle.

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS is set to hit 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 4, 2012.
