Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL gets first official banner!

The brand-new, official Facebook page for next summer’s MAN OF STEEL, a reboot of DC Comic’s most iconic superhero Superman, has revealed the first banner for the film.  Other than the previously released marketing image of Henry Cavill as Superman a few months ago, there has not been much by the way of “official” images from the film so this release is exciting.  Is the image itself that exciting?  No, not really.  It is just a stylized version of the new “S” shield, however, the exciting part is that we may soon see more marketing material being released.  My hope is that this will all lead up to us getting our very first trailer attached to this summer’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.  That would make the most sense since both characters are from DC and Warner Bros.

Anywho, check out the banner below (you can click it to make it a little over double this size) and let us know what you think of the new “S” shield in the comments below.

MAN OF STEEL is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff.

SYNOPSIS: Henry Cavill plays Superman in director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel.” The film also stars Amy Adams as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Laurence Fishburne as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent’s adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.

Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Michael Shannon, and Faora, Zod’s evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman’s native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman’s mother, played by Ayelet Zurer, and Superman’s father, Jor-El, portrayed by Russell Crowe. Rounding out the cast are Harry Lennix as U.S. military man General Swanwick, as well as Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.

MAN OF STEEL is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2013.
