Tenacious D – RIZE OF THE FENIX promo video features Tim Robbins, Val Kilmer, Dave Grohl and more – plus listen to a sample of the new album

I’ll never forget how disappointed I was while watching TENACIOUS D IN THE PICK OF DESTINY in 2006. The feature film based on Jack Black and Kyle Gass’ popular band and television series was highly-anticipated, but just failed to really impress. I remember being most upset in that I wanted to like it, but just couldn’t, and I was very much a fan of Tenacious D going into it. But sometimes what works in one format just doesn’t flow in another, and there’s never anything wrong with going back to the basics, right? Well it turns out “The D” have a new album coming out called “Rize of the Fenix”, which is being released on both CD and vinyl record (remember those?), which you can pre-order using the links below. Here’s the cover and track listing:

Track Listings
1. Rize of the Fenix
2. Low Hangin’ Fruit
3. Classical Teacher
4. SeƱorita
5. Deth Starr
6. Roadie
7. Flutes and Trombones
8. Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Kage
9. Throwdown
10. Rock Is Dead
11. They F*cked Our Asses
12. To Be The Best
13. 39

But all that takes a backseat right this second, as the new promo video (designed on purpose to look like a feature on the tabloid show “Extra”) has hit the net, featuring Black and Gass back in all their glory, along with cameos by Val Kilmer, Tim Robbins, Dave Grohl, and Josh Groban. Check out the video below, and a sample from the new album underneath, then get out your credit card and order the album using our Amazon links… you know you can’t live without it.
