SXSW 2012: Video interviews – NATURE CALLS red carpet with Rob Riggle, Johnny Knoxville and director Todd Rohal

We’re still processing an amazing amount of video from the 2012 South by Southwest Film Festival, but one thing that was a delight this year was the exciting red carpet premieres filled with an eclectic mix of talent. SXSW has always had great red carpets in the past, but this year seemed exceptionally smooth, thanks primarily to the tireless efforts of Rebecca Feferman, Emily Shaw, Lauren Tuttle, and April Henshaw, who made sure we were front and center for some of the more exciting premieres. Our first item we covered for the event was the red carpet premiere of director Todd Rohal’s NATURE CALLS, a comedy about a boys Scout Trip that puts two brothers into a hilarious rivalry. It starts Johnny Knoxville, Patton Oswalt, Rob Riggle and the late, great Patrice O’Neal. I got a chance to talk to Rob Riggle, Todd Rohal (THE CATECHISM CATACLYSM) and Johnny Knoxville when they walked the carpet, and also got their thoughts on working with Patrice, who they all seemed to have very fond memories of. What you don’t get the full impact of is how incredibly rough the rain was, pouring on us while we tried to shoot – it was so distracting, this is probably the one time I screwed up a movie title in an interview. Check out the video below. There’s more interviews coming with Rob and Todd, as we got to sit down and have more lengthy chats the following day. More soon…

My thanks to the intrepid Ric Mulligan for shooting this… in the rain.
