Marvel’s THE AVENGERS gets a new movie poster

Marvel has really been rocking the big screen lately. IRON MAN has had two successful film outings, and last year’s THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER wowed crowds and earned big bucks. This summer they’re poised to dominate the box office yet again with THE AVENGERS, bringing together all of their most popular movie heroes under the directing eye of Joss Whedon. While much of the plot has been kept secret, we know that THOR villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be at least one of the main baddies, and Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will be working together as one big superhero team. Today we’re treated to a brand new poster, showing all the heroes in their glory. Check it out below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. Personally, I was hoping for a recreation of the classic cover to the first issue, but I’m sure there were specific reasons why the characters (or actors) were sized the way they are here. This may not be the final poster either.
