Video and photos: Eliza Dushku Q&A highlights from the DFW Sci-Fi Expo 2012

If you missed this year’s Sci-Fi Expo at the Irving Convention Center, you missed a lot of fun. For those unaware, outside of Bigfanboy.com, I manage these events with Official Pix and my buddy Ben Stevens. For the past decade we’ve had anywhere from three to four shows a year covering comic books, Sci-Fi movies and TV, and just about anything that falls into the realm of “geek” culture. The Sci-Fi Expo dates back to the 90’s, when Ben started them as a way of bringing STAR WARS guests to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. When he and I first met, I was hosting comic book shows in Dallas, and we eventually partnered up to make the conventions in Big D bigger and better. In retrospect, we’ve accomplished a lot in a short period of time, bringing in some of the coolest celebrities and comic book artists this area has ever seen. A few weeks ago we hosted the latest installment of the Sci-Fi Expo show. Among the guests we had half the cast of FIREFLY (Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher and Ron Glass), comic legends Bill Sienkiewicz and Bernie Wrightson, painter extraordinaire Joe Jusko, Marvel superstar artist Mark Brooks, STARGATE‘s Alexis Cruz, ROBOCOP‘s Angie Bolling, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN‘s Ali Faulkner, THE NEVERENDING STORY‘s Noah Hathaway… and that’s just the short list. One of our headline guests was the very sexy Eliza Dushku, who appeared on Saturday of the show and packed our Q&A room with enthusiastic fans. Dushku, known for her work as “Faith” on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and “Echo” on DOLLHOUSE, answered audience questions for the better part of 45 minutes, in between her lengthy signing sessions and photo ops. We’ve compiled some video highlights below for you to check out, shot by the always-reliable Rachel Parker of DFWLive.org – the photos on this page are also by Rachel, shooting once again for Bigfanboy.com

Check out the video and tell us your thoughts in the comments below. Our next big event is the Dallas Comic Con this May 19-20, which you can find more information on HERE. Our thanks to Eliza for hitting Big D, and big thanks to all the fans for coming out!
