UPDATE! The first trailer for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER frees us from the undead!

Updated with the first international trailer as well.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER is the genre smashing novel by Seth Grahame-Smith that hit the market back in 2010 and now, thanks to producer Tim Burton (ALICE IN WONDERLAND) and director Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED), we will see the hidden story of the man most famous for ending slavery here in America.  In the novel, our 16th president not only led a life of greatness, rising in power thru politics to become one of the most famous people to ever walk the face of the Earth, but he also defended the lands from hordes of the undead, blood-loving creatures of the night who fed on the people of America, most notably slaves.

As a follow-up to his most famous book, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the book worked on so many levels and now, we have our first glimpse of how the translation from book to movie will be handled.  There are some shots in the trailer of Washington, D.C in the present so it seems safe to say that the novel’s “present day start” is still going to be incorporated into film version.  For those who have not read the book, think along the lines of the beginning of INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE but with a different sort of twist.  That’s it.  That’s all you are getting from me.  No spoilers here.

So, with that said, check out the first trailer for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER and let us know what you think in the comments below.
