While I admittedly like the RESIDENT EVIL movies, just as guilty pleasure "action" fare, I also admittedly never saw the last one... not because I didn't want to, I guess I'm just losing interest in the franchise a bit. But apparently I'm in the minority. 2010's RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE grossed just under $300 million worldwide, the highest of any of the installments so far. So it's no surprise that director Paul W.S. Anderson and series star Milla Jovovich (who plays "Alice") have returned to their respective roles in RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION, joined by familiar faces like Sienna Guillory (as "Jill Valentine"), Oded Fehr (as "Carlos Oliveira" - wait, isn't he dead?), Michelle Rodriguez (as "Rain Ocampo" - wait, isn't she dead?), Shawn Roberts (as "Albert Weskler"), Colin Salmon (as "One" in this), and Boris Kodjoe (as "Luther West"), and featuring new faces like Kevin Durand, Johann Urb, and Li Bingbing (as "Ada Wong"). The preview, like the other RESIDENT EVIL trailers, starts off looking like a commercial (in this case one big Sony commercial), but soon moves into non-stop action. Like the last movie this one is also in 3D. Check out the video below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go catch up with part 4, as there's no way I'll know what's going on in part 5 if I don't, right?
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
