Well, this certainly has been a big weekend for two of next summer’s big comic based movies. Yesterday, we brought you not only the new one-sheet for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but we also brought you a new one-sheet for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. What was unique about both of those posters was the absence of any color in the posters, the marketing team deciding that a good black and white poster would be different and eye-catching. I think both of the posters are some of the best that have been released in a long time.
If Sony’s marketing team decided that yesterday’s poster should be sans color, they definitely went the other way with these three new banners that have just hit the web. They are bright, they show Spidey’s new costume and they look, well, pretty dang good as well, if I must say so myself. There has been a lot of controversy around the redesign of the Spider-Man suit, with the look of the suit being a little too busy. Seeing the suit in the previously released trailer (albeit for only a few seconds) and in many of the promotional shots, I think it is safe to say that the suit was designed for a specific lighting and camera set-up and will look good up on the big screen. This is one of the main reasons we here tend to stay away from amateur set photos because even though you are seeing the suit, you are not seeing it thru the lens of the director and his final vision (keep in mind that some work on the suits, including the feet / shoe areas are many times changed or fixed in post-production).
