Sony Pictures is about to release director David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, and the anticipation (particularly around here) is pretty high on this one. We’ve seen a few different trailers already, which have all been impressive, but now you can check out the 8-minute long trailer for the film, which does a nice job of showing you what to expect without giving away too terribly much. I’m a big fan of the original Swedish film starring Noomi Rapace, and this looks very faithful while still being very Fincher. Plus you’ve got the amazing music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, collaborating again hot off the heels of THE SOCIAL NETWORK sountrack.  Check out the new 8-minute long (8:24 to be exact) preview below (originally only available through iTunes) and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Based on Stieg Larsson’s posthumously published crime thriller trilogy, “The Millennium Series.” The book describes the mystery surrounding the long-unsolved disappearance of an heiress. A journalist recently dinged by a libel case and a young female hacker try to resolve it, stirring up bundles of personal and industrial corruption along the way.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO opens December 21, 2011
