TITANIC 3D – Check out the first poster and trailer for the re-release of the 2nd biggest movie ever!

James Cameron has the distinct honor of not only being the writer and director for the top grossing movie of all time, but also the second highest grossing movie of all time.  That is really something.  Not content with all the money the movie made the first time around, TITANIC is now set to hit theaters again next year, this time in a meticulous transformation to 3D.

When TITANIC came out in 1994, it all but helped launch the careers of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.  Not only will TITANIC 3D be a chance for old and new audiences to experience the epic love story set amidst one of the most famous tragedies in modern history in a whole new way, but it will also be interesting to see these titanic (pun intended) movie stars back when they were still young and fresh in the world of movie-making.

Along with the poster above, thanks to ComingSoon.net, you can also check out the trailer below courtesy of TITANIC 3D’s official Facebook page.  As always, let us know what you think in the comments below.

TITANIC 3D is directed by James Cameron and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Gloria Stuart, Bill Paxton, Bernard Hill, David Warner, Victor Garber, Jonathan Hyde and Suzy Amis.

SYNOPSIS: Written, directed and produced by James Cameron, “Titanic” is the second-highest grossing movie of all time. It is one of only three films to have received a record 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director; and launched the careers of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. DiCaprio and Winslet light up the screen as Jack and Rose, the young lovers who find one another on the maiden voyage of the “unsinkable” R.M.S. Titanic. But when the doomed luxury liner collides with an iceberg in the frigid North Atlantic their passionate love affair becomes a thrilling race for survival.

TITANIC 3D is set to hit RealD 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on April 6, 2012.
