New Movie Posters: SHAME, MADISON COUNTY, THE DARKEST HOUR, THE INNKEEPERS, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS

Here are a few new movie posters for you to lay your eyes upon. These have come out over the past few days and we just wanted to round them up for you. Check them out and let us know what you think in the comments below.

SHAME is directed by Steve McQueen and stars Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan and James Badge Dale.

Synopsis: Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon’s insular life spirals out of control.

SHAME is set to hit theaters in a limited capacity on December 2, 2011.

 

 

MADISON COUNTY is directed by Eric England and stars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, Adrienne Harrell, Matt Mercer, Nick Principe, Joanna Sotomura, Natalie Scheetz and Katie Stegeman.

Synopsis: “Madison County” is about a group of college students that travel to a remote, mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book on the accounts of the grisly murders that Happened in the town over two decades ago. Upon their arrival, the author is nowhere to be found and the townspeople state that they’ve “not seen him in years.” They also deny that Damien Ewell, the notorious Murderer, ever existed and that the murders never happened. As the kids start to dig around to get their own answers, they come to find that the stories, and Damien, maybe more real than the townspeople are letting on.

THE DARKEST HOUR is directed by Chris Gorak and stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor and Joel Kinnaman.

Synopsis: “The Darkest Hour” is the story of five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. The 3D feature film combines mind-blowing special effects from filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, with the vision of director Chris Gorak.

THE DARKEST HOUR is set to hit 2D and 3D theaters on December 25, 2011.

 

 

THE INNKEEPERS is directed by Ti West and stars Sara Paxton, Pat Healy and Kelly McGillis.

Synopsis: After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees – Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) – are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.

THE INNKEEPERS is set to hit theaters in a limited capacity on February 3, 2012.

 

 

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO is directed by David Fincher and stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård, Steven Berkoff, Robin Wright, Yorick van Wageningen and Joely Richardson.

Synopsis: “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is the first film in Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster “The Millennium Trilogy.” Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon. The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2011.

 

 

SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry and Rachel McAdams.

Synopsis: Sherlock Holmes(Robert Downey Jr.) has always been the smartest man in the room… until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective. When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide. But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder, a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. The cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead of Holmes as he spins a web of death and destruction, all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2011.
