Jake Gyllenhaal wants you at our SOURCE CODE screening in Dallas!

The opening night premiere film at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival was SOURCE CODE from acclaimed director Duncan Jones (MOON). To celebrate the occasion, the cast (Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga) and Duncan were on hand to introduce the movie, and do interviews the following day with select members of the press. Just hours before I spoke with Jake, I learned that Bigfanboy.com was going to have the honor of hosting the DFW screening of SOURCE CODE, which I was very happy to hear. My review is coming soon, but I’ll just say that sci-fi fans are going to love this one. After a masterpiece like MOON, it’s easy to say the bar has been set high for Jones as a director, but this film is an admirably impressive follow-up. Check out the personal message from Jake below (happy to say he’s a very cool cat) and our info on the screening underneath, and please spread the word.

And yes, those eyes are dreamy in person.

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

Opening in theaters nationwide on April 1, 2011, the film was written by Ben Ripley. A Mark Gordon Company production, and presented by Vendóme Pictures, the film was produced by Mark Gordon, Philippe Rousselet and Jordan Wynn, with Hawk Koch, Jeb Brody, and Fabrice Gianfermi executive producing.
