Trailer and poster for TWILIGHT director Catherine Hardwicke’s RED RIDING HOOD reminds us of… TWILIGHT.

Okay, first of all I’m not going to bash TWILIGHT because I’m self-aware enough to understand that those movies and books weren’t made for me, and at the same time are hard for me to criticize because the target audience clearly enjoys what they see.  I also interviewed the director of the first TWILIGHT movie, Catherine Hardwicke, and found her to be an incredibly pleasant and insightful woman – you can see that interview below the trailer.  Her updating of the Little Red Riding Hood story called RED RIDING HOOD stars Amanda Seyfried in the title role, along with Gary Oldman, Lukas Haas, Virginia Madsen, Billy Burke (from TWILIGHT), Julie Christie, Michael Shanks, Michael Hogan (from the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA), and Shiloh Fernandez (DEADGIRL).  I am interested to know what exactly happened to MAXIMUM RIDE, which was supposed to be Hardwicke’s next project after TWILIGHT… and obviously wasn’t.  Check out the poster above and trailer below, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
