I think it’s too easy (or maybe just too tempting) for movie bloggers to dish out hate on a trailer like this, and many times that hatred may actually stem from the fact that we (movie bloggers) aren’t kids anymore. I’ve been doing this a long time, since back before there were movie blogs… I used to just have what was called a “movie website.” But in all my years I’ve tried to teach myself one very important lesson – know who certain movies are made for. Just because I don’t like the look of something, or the idea of a film, or its stars, does not mean there isn’t an audience for it. When I first saw the trailers for the ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE movie, I thought there was no way it could possibly be good… and… well, it wasn’t great, but I did finally see it, and I did find some of it amusing. Keeping in mind that today’s kids need films to go to also, YOGI BEAR may in fact be an interesting little distraction from the heavy-handed dramas and action movies hitting theaters lately. I love me some Dan Aykroyd, and while his vocal acting doesn’t quite flow gracefully as Yogi, hearing Justin Timberlake completely knock Boo-Boo’s voice out of the park makes me giggle. This new trailer does play infinitely better than the first one, but there’s still very little of the live-action stuff to be seen. Tom Cavanagh and Anna Faris are playing non-CGI roles, and I’m betting it’s their interaction with Yogi and Boo-Boo that this movie will live or die on. Check out the new trailer and tell us what you think. Ready for this cinematic pic-a-nic?
