Movies are getting made fast these days.  It was just this past January we reported that the comic book to film adaptation RED had started shooting.  And today, we have a trailer… not just any trailer, I dare say a pretty solid and fun trailer.  This looks really good.  RED is based on the comic series by the great Warren Ellis and my Atlanta-based buddy Cully Hamner.  I actually just talked to Cully a week or so ago about his visit to the set, and he had some great Bruce Willis stories to share.  Now granted, for those who have read the comic, there are some definite differences here.  Warren Ellis actually noted some of those difference on his website HERE.  But watch this preview and tell me this doesn’t look like a blast.  You’ve got Willis and Morgan Freeman (back together after their awesome pairing in the highly-underrated LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN), the incredible Helen Mirren, WEEDS star Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, Karl Urban, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox, James Remar, Julian McMahon, and Ernest Borgnine!  This is helmed by German director Robert Schwentke, who did one of my favorite serial killer films TATTOO (2002) and more recently THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE.  I can’t wait to see Cully’s name on the big screen… and Warren’s, I mean I love his work, but Cully’s my bud.  Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!

RED opens October 15, 2010
