MIDWAY video interview – Ed Skrein & Luke Kleintank talk about starring in the WWII epic

The Battle of Midway has seen a few big screen adaptations through the years, but remains an important part of real world history, in a time where the next generation seems to learn less and less about these important events. Hopefully it will get audiences interested in the real life heroes that fought so bravely in that time, and turned the tide right after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The new movie MIDWAY, directed by Roland Emmerich, is full of big moments and sports an impressive cast, but also feels like it doesn’t go out of its way to “Hollywood” up the scenes the way it could… and that’s a good thing. The real events were intense and frightening enough as they were, so it’s nice to see a more realistic depiction of war on the big screen. Even the dialogue feels honest and unfiltered, which is refreshing in this day of frequent cinematic exaggeration. I had a chance to sit down with two of the film’s main stars, Ed Skrein and Luke Kleintank, who play Lt. Dick Best and Lt. Clarence Dickinson respectively – two men who were war heroes, but also accomplished amazing feats even after The Battle of Midway. You can see that interview below. My thanks to Grady May for editing this. I’m always interested in war films, not just because the subject matter fascinates me, but because I do feel they’re important to keep the memory of those important days alive. Look for my MIDWAY review, but I’ll say this here and now… it’s worth watching, for sure.

MIDWAY is now playing everywhere
