We just posted the first official clip from the upcoming GHOST IN THE SHELL movie from Paramount Pictures starring Scarlett Johansson and actor Takeshi Kitano, but now you can watch a full five minutes of footage to get a taste of what to expect, complete with an intro by Scarlett herself. The live action remake of the Anime classic is helmed by director Rupert Sanders, and has come under fire a bit with the casting of a white American (Johansson) in the lead. I’m not sure how to feel about it, as there’s certainly arguments to be made for Asian actors not getting a chance to play a role made famous by Asian filmmakers and creators, but the studio also knows this is going to cost a LOT of money, and they need to be able to sell it to American audiences. We’ve seen some of the clip below already in the trailers, but this is definitely impressive stuff shown as a complete scene. I’m already hearing the production design and effect in the final film are rather amazing. We’ll see what the end result delivers next week, but for the time being tell us your thoughts in the comments.
