Zack Snyder reveals first official image of Jason Momoa as DC Comics’ Aquaman

Zack Snyder has been a subtle marketing machine for the upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE movie, releasing images here and there, some that are pretty epic. And now we’ve got our first official look at Jason Momoa as Aqauman. It seems like Aquaman never gets the respect other DC Comics heroes command, and most people seem to think of him as a weak and silly character. Safe to say this image may change those perceptions. Snyder has actually spoken up before in defense of Aquaman, even pointing out he has the ability to hurt Superman, so he’s not to be brushed off. Here’s Snyder’s Tweet revealing the image:

The biggest question now is what does “Unite the Seven” mean? Is it a reference to seven members of the Justice League? Or the more likely choice of the Seven Seas? It’s still unknown whether or not Jason Momoa will appear as Aquaman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN next year (opening March 2016), though we’re guessing he will, especially now that Snyder is teasing him. He is however slated to be in the first JUSTICE LEAGUE movie in November 2017, and then his own AQUAMAN film on July 27, 2018. What’s most interesting about this image is the armor, which looks to be a mix of traditional armor and some armor tattoos, the latter of which has a very Maori aesthetic to it. And dig the awesome trident, er, fivedent? Aquaman’s trident is a very powerful thing, so it will be cool to see it used on the big screen. Take a look at the image below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. It’s safe to say we’re more intrigued to see what Warner Bros. and DC Comics have in store for fans than ever before.
