I cannot tell you how many people have recommended this film to me over the years. So I finally rented it on ON DEMAND and gave it a watch.
It may ostrosize me in some ways, but I gotta say in all honesty that I wasn’t impressed with it. While it is shot well, artsy and deep, it just doesn’t BLOW ME AWAY or BLOW MY MIND cause of the subject it involves. But I think this may be because of what I am going into the film as. See, I’m a STAR TREK fan and also a fan of BACK TO THE FUTURE. I’ve been wrapping my mind around time paradoxes since I was very little. So this film really was no big surprise at all. I almost wrote it as it went along.
Its slow paced and crazy at times. However it does have gems. Patrick Swayze as a B.S. Motivational speaker and those who blindly follow, remind me of of idiots I know out in the world. Sometimes the dialog and a scene here and there capture a feeling I remember having once or twice in my life.
Overall, its a good watch and if you are into slow paced and deep, this will be good for you. But in the end, I’m an EXPERT at time travel related troubles and stories in films so the overall and ending of the picture really didn’t do anything for me.
GRADE: 2.5 Airplane Engines out of 5
Graded higher cause it is shot well. I shouldn’t judge a movie negatively based on only the experience I am going into it with. But I don’t know how to turn it off.
