The new fighting game is slated to hit stores early next year. Why should you care? Well it comes from the creators of MORTAL KOMBAT a.k.a. NetherRealm, masters of “the fighting game.” I enjoyed the newest MORTAL KOMBAT, it had multiple modes, including a Story Mode. All of which gave the game more depth than that of MARVEL VS. CAPCOM, which was beatable in about half an hour. A game that short isn’t worth the money to me.
NetherRealm is going to give you some bang for your buck and they aren’t ones to skimp on graphics. Earlier this year IGN released a video of 15 minutes of gameplay. Each playable level has multiple layers and a useable environment. Superman can throw barrels at his opponent for example, or can knock his opponent into another section of the level.
A function game makers created for the latest Mortal Kombat also being included is the “Super Moves.” Your character has a meter that builds through out the fight and you press a button to engage the special move. Superman for example knocks his opponent into outer space and then punches him back down to earth. All of which they showed in the gameplay video. If you’d like to watch it go to the link here.
A list of playable characters (So Far) for INJUSTICE includes; Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Joker, The Flash, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Solomon Grundy, Nightwing, & Cyborg.
DC is on the forefront of video games, riding high on ARKHAM CITY, which was developed by Rocksteady Studios. ARKHAM CITY is the envy of all other super hero games as far as I’m concerned. INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US is a fighting game so it makes sense to go with a studio that is known for their ability in making a quality fighter.
I hope they continue to raise the bar and make it just as immersive as they did with MORTAL KOMBAT.
Marvel should be ashamed of the game quality they are putting out. They have such a large array of characters and games like THE AVENGERS: BATTLE FOR EARTH just doesn’t live up to the Marvel brand. In fact The Avengers: Battle for Earth started out as a First Person Shooter and when THQ closed their studios Marvel handed it over to Ubisoft who copped out and turned it into a fighter. The graphics are terrible, the fact its a Kinect game is terrible, and its yet another marvel “fighting” game…. TERRIBLE.

I love Marvel properties, I love them more than DC properties, but they are falling way short on the video game front.
