OmniCorp gives us our first look at the ROBOCOP remake

The remake of Paul Verhoeven’s cinematic classic ROBOCOP has yet to start filming, however, that hasn’t stopped the viral campaign from kicking off.  A new website for OmniCorp has appeared online (keep in mind the subtle difference as it was OCP – Omni Consumer Products in the first one) and the website gives us our first look at the redesigned ED-209 as well as other OmniCorp products.  We even get a brief glimpse of one of their ucoming products, the RC2000 which, as well all know, is the new RoboCop.

Below is a picture of the new ED-209 and by clicking on the website for OmniCorp, you can view a video that shows off the firepower and durability of the big guy (the tank never had a chance).

Just for comparison, here is the original ED-209:

ROBOCOP is directed by Jose Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugh Laurie.

SYNOPSIS: The original “RoboCop,” which premiered in 1987, was “part man, part machine and all cop.” The film’s storyline focused on the future of law enforcement as a terminally wounded cop returns to the police force as a powerful cyborg haunted by submerged memories.

Oldman will play Norton, the scientist who invents the cyborg technology that brings Officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) back to life.

ROBOCOP is set to hit theaters on August 9, 2013.
