New clip from THOR: THE DARK WORLD introduces Christopher Eccleston as the evil Malekith

We’ve posted more than a few articles on Marvel movies coming up, and the next big one to take on the box office is almost here. THOR: THE DARK WORLD hits theaters on November 8th, and so far everything we’ve seen is looking really good. The story looks rather dark and serious, which isn’t a bad thing. One thing that’s been kept rather quiet is the film’s main villain, “Malekith”, played by former Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston. We’ve seen glimpses of him here and there, but no real solid looks… until now. A new clip premiered at IGN (in case you couldn’t tell by their giant watermark on the video), and it shows what looks to be Malekith’s introduction in the film. There’s shades of Darth Vader and STAR WARS here, which again isn’t a bad thing. In the movie Thor must team up with his nefarious and imprisoned brother Loki to bring down Malekith. Check this new clip out below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. Are you looking forward to Thor’s next big screen adventure?

THOR: THE DARK WORLD is directed by Alan Taylor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos… but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
