Entertainment Weekly is certainly making a lot of fanboys happy today.  They are providing a first look at some of the images from the September 30 issue that feature many of the main cast from next summer’s THE AVENGERS.  For many fans, myself included, that have been scouring the internet looking for any glimpses of the filming that is currently underway and have had to settle for amateur photographs taken from far away by lucky fans, these new photos provide us with a good look at the stars of the film.  One thing that clearly stands out to me is how much better Chris Evans looks in his new Captain America costume than he does in many of the spy photos.

Take a look at the photos below which include the cover to tomorrow’s issue and many more photos from the movie.  Let us know what you think of the photos in the comments below and be sure to pick up the issue hitting newsstands tomorrow.

Directed by Joss Whedon (SERENITY, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) and starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgärd, Samuel L. Jackson and Colby Smulders, Marvel’s THE AVENGERS is the continuation of the epic big-screen adventures started in IRON MAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, IRON MAN 2, THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, and it is the superhero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

THE AVENGERS hits theaters on May 4, 2012.
