Video interview: Anna Kendrick talks 50/50 and TWILIGHT coming to an end

Oscar nominated for UP IN THE AIR (she was my pick to win, too), the lovely Anna Kendrick has become an audience favorite in a rather short period of time. Outside of co-starring with George Clooney in the aforementioned Academy Award darling (6 total nominations), she’s had memorable roles in SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, and of course those little-known independent flicks… what are they called… oh yeah, TWILIGHT. Kendrick has played Bella (Kristen Stewart) Swan’s friend “Jessica Stanley” in all of THE TWILIGHT SAGA movies, including the three already released and BREAKING DAWN – Part 1 and 2 coming out shortly. This weekend moviegoers will find a whole new reason to fall in love with her in director Jonathan Levine’s exceptional 50/50, a comedy/drama dealing with cancer in which she shares the screen with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Angelica Huston. In the film Anna plays “Katherine”, a hospital therapist with little experience who does her best to console and help Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) deal with his newfound illness. It’s a tricky role, as Kendrick must convincingly play a young doctor who has equal parts of sincere sympathy and restrained professionalism, despite a potentially unprofessional relationship forming between her and her new patient. I’m happy to say she once again knocks it out of the park, and helps make 50/50 easily one of the best movies to come out of 2011. I got a chance to sit down with Kendrick to discuss her role in the film, what went into the preparation for it, and even ask her how she feels knowing that her TWILIGHT film franchise is finally nearing its end. Check out the video interview below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. My sincere thanks to Anna for taking time to come to Dallas.
