We previously told you about 1980’s teen icon Judd Nelson getting cast in the live action adaptation of BAD KIDS GO TO HELL, the hit comic book series by Matt Spradlin and Barry Wernick. Today more casting news on the Texas-based production. FARSCAPE and STARGATE SG-1 star Ben Browder has snagged the role of “Max”, the mysterious janitor of the school. We’ve got this from the inside, it’s confirmed here for the first time. For those who know the book, you’ll know this is ultimately an important role. Browder should help bring attention from sci-fi fans of both hit series he’s been involved in, plus the actor has been a sort of good will ambassador to his fans, appearing at several pop culture conventions through the years to show his support. I’ve met the guy a few times, and was really taken with how generous he is with his time, and how caring he is of his fans. This is exciting news for the production. Outside of Nelson and Browder, the film’s cast also includes Cameron Deane Stewart (“So Undercover,” “That’s What I Am,” “iCarly,” “Justice for Natalee”), Ali Faulkner (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” “Boneboys,” “Humans vs. Zombies,” “Maggie’s Passage”), Marc Donato (“Sick Boy,” “The Final,” “White Oleander,” “Pay it Forward,” “Billy Madison,” “DeGrassi: The Next Generation”), Roger Edwards (“Freelancers,” “Spy Kids 4,” “Stop Loss”), Amanda Alch (“Moon Ring,” “When Zachary Beaver Came to Town,” “Birdie and Bogey”), and newly cast actresses Augie Duke and Chanel Ryan. BKGTH will be directed by Matt Spradlin and produced by Barry Wernick. More news as it develops.
The Breakfast Club meets The Grudge in this sexy, dark comedy-thriller! Six prep school kids from Crestview Academy, home to the spoiled offspring of society’s elite, find themselves stuck in detention on a frightfully dark and stormy Saturday afternoon. During their 8 hour incarceration, each of the six kids falls victim to a horrible “accident” until only one of them remains. As each of these spoiled rich kids bites the dust, the story takes on a series of humorous and frantic twists and turns. Is one of the kids secretly evening the school’s social playing field? Or have the ghosts of prestigious Crestview Academy finally come to punish the school’s worst (and seemingly untouchable) brats? One thing is for sure…Daddy’s money can’t save them now. (Based on the best selling indie comic book series/graphic novel of the same name)
Thanks for the nice comments on Ben Browder! He is generous with his time and a good actor as well!
Sooo excited to see more of Ben Browder! Those eyes, that voice … just a great guy and a compelling actor. I’ve never heard of BKGTH, but it looks interesting!
I can’t wait to see Ben Browder in this new genre. He’s going to bring his own special chemistry to this project and it’s going to be something special to see!
