IN THE BLOOD trailer and poster – Gina Carano is kicking butt in the corrupt Caribbean

I’ll admit it, I’m in love with Gina Carano. I was probably kinder than most after seeing her in Steven Soderbergh’s HAYWIRE, which to me was basically a variation of a James Bond movie, or a modern day take on a Steven Seagal blockbuster, only from a female perspective. Granted, the MMA fighter probably isn’t going to win any Academy Awards for her acting, but she’s pretty great in fight scenes, and it’s easy to see why many (still) think she’d be a great choice for a big screen Wonder Woman. Her latest movie is IN THE BLOOD, directed by John Stockwell (TURISTAS), which co-stars Cam Gigandet, Luis Guzman, Danny Trejo, Stephen Lang, Treat Williams and Amaury Nolasco. When a Caribbean honeymoon goes bad and her husband disappears, Ava (Carano) must use her particular set of skills to solve the mystery. Take a look at the trailer below and poster above, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Gina Carano stars as Ava, a trained fighter with a dark past. When her new husband (Cam Gigandet) vanishes during their Caribbean honeymoon, Ava uncovers a violent underworld of conspiracy in the middle of an island paradise. Armed with a deadly set of skills, Ava sets out to discover the truth – and to take down the men she thinks are responsible for his abduction, one by one.

IN THE BLOOD hits theaters and on VOD April 4, 2014
