It’s safe to say José Padilha’s 2014 ROBOCOP reboot is a film that has become the subject of much nerd debate, with most saying it’s almost the highest form of sacrilege to remake such a beloved classic… I guess those same folks forgot about the two somewhat lackluster sequels. I loved the original film, LOVED it, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. That said, while it remains ahead of its time and in many ways a timeless classic, I understand Hollywood is officially out of original ideas… so here’s the newest inevitable result. Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) is playing Alex Murphy/Robocop in this one, and the supporting cast is pretty stellar, including Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jackie Earle Haley, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish and more – apparently original ROBOCOP star Miguel Ferrer is in there somewhere playing a different character, though I couldn’t spot him anywhere in the trailers. Now we’ve compiled six different clips from the film, all posted by various other websites and channels, but we’ve put them back to back for you to check out. This should give folks an idea of what to expect, and the look and feel of the piece. I love the use of the classic rock tune “Hocus Pocus” by Focus in the fourth clip. Check all the clips out below and tell us your thoughts. I have to admit, as much as I adore the original, this looks pretty cool so far. If you disagree sound off in the comments.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

ROBOCOP opens on February 12, 2014
