I’m actually kind of surprised that Tyler Labine hasn’t become a bigger name by now, turning in memorable comedic performances in films like TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL and A GOOD OLD FASHIONED ORGY, not to mention the series REAPER. While his new comedy SOMEONE MARRY BARRY doesn’t exactly look like star-making material, it may just be a fun and raunchy romp to help further put him in the spotlight. The feature directorial debut from writer/director Rob Pearlstein (who made the Oscar-nominated short film “Our Time Is Up”) co-stars Lucy Punch (BAD TEACHER), Hayes McArthur (GO ON), Thomas Middleditch (the goldfish guy in THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) and Damon Wayans Jr. (NEW GIRL) …and apparently Ed Helms is in there somewhere too. Check out the poster above and trailer (courtesy of Yahoo) below and tell us what you think in the comments.

In every romantic comedy the nice, sweet, approachable leading man has a buddy who is rude, obnoxious, and unlovable. But maybe that character should be the one the movie is about.

That’s the idea behind “Someone Marry Barry,” the feature directorial debut from writer/director Rob Pearlstein (he previously made the Oscar-nominated short film “Our Time Is Up”). It’s about three dudes (Hayes McArthur, Thomas Middleditch and Damon Wayans Jr.) who just can’t shake their infuriating buddy Barry (Tyler Labine). So they get the idea that the best way to get him off their backs is to marry him off to some unsuspecting woman. But when Barry finally hits it off with Melanie (Lucy Punch), the friends discover she’s more insufferable than he is.

It’s not the first raunchy comedy for Punch and Labine; they previously appeared together in 2011’s “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.” They also co-starred in 2013’s bloody black comedy “Cottage Country.”

SOMEONE MARRY BARRY is in limited release on February 7, on demand and digital download on February 13
