Not a ton of surprises this year, but the full list of Golden Globes winners is below. Very cool to see the love shown to the performances of DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB, and AMERICAN HUSTLE made out well. BEHIND THE CANDELABRA and BREAKING BAD got a few expected wins, including a win for star Bryan Cranston, but BROOKLYN NINE-NINE was most likely the big surprise winner tonight. And Leonardo DiCaprio, who often gets overlooked come Oscar time, took home a Golden Globe for his performance in THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. Did any of these surprise you? Let us know in the comments. We included our picks to win below, so you can see which ones we were right with, and which ones we missed. The Golden Globes can sometimes be a good indicator of what to expect you’ll be hearing about at the Academy Awards. That said, the Globes have lost some respect in recent years, and many (even in Hollywood) feel like it’s mostly a big excuse to get the biggest and brightest names to come together for one big televised night. Whatever your take on it, the nominee list is always worth a look. A few films that are oddly left out in this year’s presentation include Lee Daniels’ THE BUTLER, SHORT TERM 12, and FRUITVALE STATION… not to mention THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, which seemed like one you’d expect to be in there.
The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations were announced Thursday, December 12th; winners were announced on Sunday, January 12th, broadcast at 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC.
