Just as all the studios are finishing out the year with their Oscar hopefuls, the list of nominees for the Golden Globes hits, which can sometimes be a good indicator of what to expect you’ll be hearing about at the Academy Awards. That said, the Globes have lost some respect in recent years, and many (even in Hollywood) feel like it’s mostly a big excuse to get the biggest and brightest names to come together for one big televised night. Whatever your take on it, the nominee list is always worth a look. A few films that are oddly left out include Lee Daniels’ THE BUTLER, SHORT TERM 12, and FRUITVALE STATION… not to mention THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, which seemed like one you’d expect to be in there. Check out the full list below, along with my predictions on who will win – I should note, my picks aren’t necessarily who I want to win, just who I think will win. And hey, why only three picks for Best Animated?! Makes no sense, so many good ones for that. Tell us what you expect to see win the gold by posting in the comments below.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations announced Thursday, December 12th; winners announced on Sunday, January 12th, broadcast at 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC.
