Warner Bros. has officially announced, via the MAN OF STEEL Facebook page, that Gal Gadot (FAST FIVE, FAST AND FURIOUS 6) has joined the 2015 sequel to this year’s MAN OF STEEL movie, tentatively titled BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN, as none other than Diana Prince herself, Wonder Woman.
This news comes after weeks of speculation as to whether or not the Amazonian would join up with Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. Several names had been rumored for the part including Gal Gadot so it seems like these rumors were spot on. With this rumor having legs, it makes you wonder (shhhhh, no pun intended) which, if any, of the other rumors floating around are true. In case you aren’t aware, those rumors include a Jim Lee style Batman suit, Bat Drones, Doomsday and Nightwing. Only time will tell.
Director Zack Snyder had this to say about the casting:
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
