Earlier this year at the Dallas International Film Festival, while talking about his Indonesian action film JAVA HEAT, I spoke to actor Kellan Lutz about his upcoming projects, including the motion-captured TARZAN 3D. Lutz was very excited about working on the film, and it became apparent he was a fan of the source material as well, which is always refreshing since most actors seem to get cast in iconic roles they know little or nothing about. There’s a trailer online for the new Edgar Rice Burroughs adaptation, courtesy of Addictomovie, though so far no American release dates have been announced. It should be noted this is a German production, so it will likely hit European audiences first. IMDB reports it was released in Germany on October 10, but I’m not finding confirmation of that or any advance reviews. It’s directed by Reinhard Klooss, and features the voices of Spencer Locke, Brian Bloom, Jaime Ray Newman, Robert Capron, and Mark Deklin. The trailer below is obviously for International audiences, and I’m not quite sure if this is intended more for kids or young adults yet. Chances are we’ll get an American trailer soon, so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, check out your first solid look at the film, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan’s parents, after they died in a plane crash.

And here’s my first interview I did with Kellan at Dallas International Film Festival 2013, where he talks a bit about TARZAN (skip to 6:12 for that section). I apologize for the uneven audio, for some reason my mic was way too low, though Kellan comes through loud and clear:

TARZAN 3D has no U.S. release dates defined as of this writing
