Hello True Believers, Jim here once again with an update on the many happenings across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

First up, let’s get to some recently released character posters for THOR: THE DARK WORLD. I do like that they are going for some action shots here instead of just the typical standing around looking cool posters you get so often get. The latest versions see two of the Warriors Three including Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) and Fandral (Zachary Levi). Posters are fun, aren’t they? Yep, they sure are. In fact, I have included all of the posters for THOR: THE DARK WORLD that have been released at the end of this post.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD is directed by Alan Taylor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.

“Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD is set to hit 2D and 3D theaters on November 8, 2013.

Next up, we have some official casting news for 2015’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. The Wall Street Journal has posted an interview with Mr. Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson regarding his recent cameo on (Spoiler) Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. (End Spoiler), he seemingly confirms that Elizabeth Olsen (from the upcoming OLDBOY and GODZILLA) has been cast as Wanda Maximoff, AKA the Scarlet Witch in the sequel to 2012’2 smash blockbuster.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said of “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the next film to begin shooting in the Marvel universe. ”I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
While it has remained confirmed, it is believed that KICK-ASS 2 star Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be joining the cast as Wanda’s brother, Pietro Maximoff, AKA Quicksilver.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, James Spader and Elizabeth Olsen (with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Anthony Mackie rumored to be joining as well).

Last, but certainly not least, director Edgar Wright took to his Twitter account to tease a behind the scenes picture of Ant-Man in costume for 2015’s ANT-MAN film. What is really strange about this is, no casting announcements have been made regarding the titular character. In fact, there have been very few rumors surrounding the actual casting beyond fan dream casts (Nathan Fillion, Adrian Brody and Patrick Wilson seem to be some of the fan favorites out there).

Now, this very well could be a photo from the short that he directed a while back (see below), but either way, it appears that production is getting ready to take off so we should start to hear some info about the film. I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to this one. It is not as highly anticipated for me as is GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, but it is up there. I like the idea of risks and ANT-MAN is definitely one, but I am stoked for anything that Edgar Wright does.

SYNOPSIS: “Ant-Man” is about biochemist Dr. Hank Pym using his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.
ANT-MAN is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2015. (Note the move from November 6, 2015)
