ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US review by guest reviewer Bridgette Jackson

Editor’s Note: got a guest reviewer today in the form of Bridgette Jackson. Since I didn’t see the One Direction movie, and (let’s face it) since I’m totally not the demographic for the film anyway, Bridgette graciously offered to write a review for the site. I should add that not only is the lovely Miss Jackson a big time fan of the singing group, she’s also starting High School, and very likely had the most appropriate mode of thinking to talk about this particular film. So while it’s probably not my moviegoing cup of tea, for those wondering if the 1D movie is worth your box office dollars, check out what Bridgette has to say…

Who are Harry, Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam? Well here’s the simple answer – they are normal teenage boys who just so happened to become famous. ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US shows the true side of the boys of 1D, the wackiness to their bus rides (and let’s not forget those plane rides too), and the emotional parts of having to say goodbye to their families for 8 months. But most importantly it shows that they didn’t let the fame get to them (unlike Kevin the pigeon) but that they stuck with who they are… which is hinted the name of the movie.

This movie (to a “Directioner” like me) takes you to a position where any hardcore fan would want to be side-by-side with One Direction themselves. Yes, it’s a family friendly movie, but even if your daughter and/or son doesn’t talk about these crazy loving boys you will instantly fall in love with the band. My mom gets so mad because I don’t turn their songs down when I’m cleaning or in the car, or when I scream Kevin at a pigeon and act like a child even though I’m not, but this movie made her laugh and understand (which is almost impossible… just kidding), which only proves that even if you don’t adore these boys you should still go see the movie unless your already told your self “heck no!!”

I think that with this film you could experience something you might never encounter which is 5 crazy boys who are not only being famous but also dealing with some really awesome fans all around the world. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne are One Direction and they’re telling their story from the beginning – and telling the world that “This is Us.”
