If you missed the previous posters and trailer for LOVELACE that we posted, check out the newest theatrical poster above (which you can click on to see it full-size), and if you missed it the trailer is shown again below. Linda Lovelace (the star of DEEP THROAT) is perhaps the most famous leading lady from the early days of adult movies, and a biopic of her life is something that’s been in the works for a while now. After a lot of false starts and casting close calls, LOVELACE is finally delivering what looks to be a pretty great dramatization of the infamous actress. Amanda Seyfried plays Linda Boreman (aka Lovelace), and the always great Peter Sarsgaard shares the screen as Chuck Traynor. The rest of the cast is not too shabby either, featuring Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, James Franco, Debi Mazar, Chris Noth, Chloe Sevigny, Sharon Stone, and Juno Temple. Andy Bellin wrote the screenplay, and it’s co-directed by Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein. Tell us your thoughts in the comments… could this mean an Oscar for Seyfried?

In 1972—before the internet, before the porn explosion—Deep Throat was a phenomenon: the first scripted pornographic theatrical feature film, featuring a story, some jokes, and an unknown and unlikely star, Linda Lovelace. Escaping a strict religious family, Linda discovered freedom and the high-life when she fell for and married charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor. As Linda Lovelace she became an international sensation—less centerfold fantasy than a charming girl-next-door with an impressive capacity for fellatio. Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became an enthusiastic spokesperson for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world—and herself as the survivor of a far darker story.

And here’s a clip from the movie taken from Entertainment Tonight (which you might be able to tell by the GIANT logo overlapping the video)

LOVELACE opens August 9, 2013
