We posted about this before back in January, but that was before things were as “official” as they are now. You may have also seen the red band teaser we put up in May. I noted then as I’ll note now I’m one of those people that genuinely savors the work of Joel and Ethan Coen. Just about all of their films have a special place in my heart, even the lesser-seen treasures like BARTON FINK and THE HUDSUCKER PROXY. It’s been a while since the last Coen Brothers directorial effort, TRUE GRIT, came out and (as one would expect) was a critical hit. After a three year absence, Joel and Ethan are back with an interesting look at the life of a musician in 1960’s New York City. INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS is based on Dave Van Ronk‘s memoir “The Mayor of MacDougal Street”, and stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mlligan (Oscar and Carey co-starred previously in DRIVE), Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund (ON THE ROAD), John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham, and Adam Driver (GIRLS). There’s a new poster (above) and a red band trailer (which you can watch below) courtesy of Yahoo. Most of what was in the red band trailer is what we already saw in the temp trailer, with a few news shots peppered in, but this new green band teaser shows a lot more of what to expect. Check it out and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles — some of them of his own making.
Have you heard Oscar Isaac sing? He’s actually really good!!!
I have, and you’re right, he is!
