I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Jay Chandrasekhar once before, back when the Broken Lizard boys came through town to promote the criminally-underrated restaurant comedy SLAMMIN’ SALMON (you can see that classic interview here). But upon learning he was returning to Dallas not for movie promotion but rather to do stand up at Sons of Hermann Hall on June 25, let’s just say I was more than happy to talk to the multi-talented man once more. We chatted by phone about many things, stand-up comedy, how comedians cope with specific reactions, and even got into some filmmaking discussions. I asked Jay about what it was like to go from making smaller Broken Lizard film to big budget fare like THE DUKES OF HAZZARD movie. We also talked about the long-awaited sequels to the cult classics SUPER TROOPERS and BEERFEST… let’s just say they’re definitely working on it. If you missed some of the snippets we played on this week’s Bigfanboy Livecast, you can hear the full 20-minute interview by clicking here, or just right-click and save the MP3 to your desktop.

And just because I want to pimp it again, here’s my classic interview for SLAMMIN’ SALMON, which Jay was part of:
