Check out the tension filled first trailer for PRISONERS starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal

PRISONERS tell the story of a Keller and Grace Dover (Hugh Jackman and Maria Bello) and their friends Franklin and Nancy Birch (Terrence Howard and Viola Davis) who gather together for a good time filled with dinner and laughs.  During the get together, their daughters take a stroll and never come back, a parent’s worst nightmare.  As the plot unfolds we find that they have been kidnapped and they call on the assistance of Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) to help them recover their lost children.  I am all for a good crime thriller that keeps you guessing until the end and my only hope is that this film delivers on that front.  It already has a tremendous cast so the only thing that can keep this one from being an outstanding film would be the script (Screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski’s only credit is last year’s CONTRABAND) and the direction.

SYNOPSIS: Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?
