Aubrey Plaza is quickly making a name for herself. After some smaller parts in films like FUNNY PEOPLE and 10 YEARS, she has found a home on the hit television show Parks and Recreation, and headlined a critically acclaimed film in SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED which you can see our review for here. Now she is back again headlining her own raunchy comedy (Raunch-Com?) in THE TO-DO LIST. Here she plays an overachieving high-school graduate who is a virgin and completely clueless in the ways of sex. Upon hearing that Freshman year at college is nothing more than a year long orgy, she makes out a list of things she wants to do so that she can become knowledgeable in all different forms of sex.
A lot of the humor here comes from her naïve approach to the many weird terms associated with sex. Why would she know what a shocker is? Of course a pearl necklace sounds elegant. Aubrey is joined in the film by Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Rachel Bilson (JUMPER), Clark Gregg (THE AVENGER’S), Connie Britton (Nashville), and Andy Samberg and Bill Hader of SNL fame.

SYNOPSIS: Featuring an all-star comedy cast including Aubrey Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Sarah Steele, Rachel Bilson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Scott Porter, Andy Samberg, Connie Britton and Clark Gregg, “The To Do List” is a comedy about close friends and a special summer project, loosely inspired by the real-life adventures of first-time writer/director Maggie Carey. Set in 1993, valedictorian Brandy Klark wants to shed her uptight image before college, so she assembles a to do list of all the “activities” she missed out on in high school. Quickly realizing that she’s way out of her depth, Brandy solicits her best friends, older sister and burnt-out boss for their help and advice. If the group is going to complete the list by September they’ll need plenty of imagination and very open minds.
THE TO-DO LIST is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2013.
