THE WOLVERINE gets new trailer and new character posters. Is the Silver Samurai a robot?

Almost two months ago, we got the first trailer for this summer’s THE WOLVERINE starring Hugh Jackman as the unstoppable Marvel mutant James “Logan” Howlett, and now we have the second full length trailer.  The new trailer is more of an elaboration on the theme’s that we saw in the first one but doesn’t reveal too much more about the film.  Yes, it appears that Logan will somehow find out what life is like when you no longer have the ability to heal instantly from any wounds, yes, it still appears that Logan will fall in love with a woman that the universe does not wish him to be with (Yukio, played by Rila Fukushima) and yes, there will be ninja’s.

While a lot of the trailer is just an expansion of the first one, it does show us some new stuff as well.  First of all, there is more of the Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) flashback.  This is definitely new footage for the film and not a rehash of X-MEN: THE LAST STAND.  Another cool thing about this trailer is that it does finally reveal the full look for the Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee) and while he looks big and powerful and a legitimate foe for Wolverine, it does pose a new question.  Is the final version of the Silver Samurai a robot?  Check out the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think.

In addition to the trailer, we have three new character posters for the film.  The Silver Samurai was released a little while back, but the new ones for Viper and Yukio are brand new.  I like that they are embracing the culture of the film’s setting and releasing the character posters in a classic, Japanese art style.  Check those out below as well and be sure to click on them to see them bigger.
