Dallas-made Documentary EVERYTHING DOESN’T SUCK needs your help ASAP

My buddy Devin Pike isn’t just a sometimes contributor to Bigfanboy.com, nor is he just the guy who helped me rebuild the site with a new look, nor is he just the guy who emcees a lot of the stage events and costume contests at the Dallas Comic Con… Devin is also an aspiring filmmaker, and his first big project is a little documentary called EVERYTHING DOESN’T SUCK. What’s it about? Glad you asked! EVERYTHING DOESN’T SUCK chronicles the way movies and movie promotion has changed, both for the better and the worse, by way of the internet. In the past 15 years, studios have started looking at film marketing in a whole new way, and the web is now a driving force behind daily conversation in Hollywood boardrooms. Devin is getting out there and talking to people behind the scenes, including directors, writers, producers, critics and others in the filmmaking community… I think I may even end up in the finished product.

But putting something like this together isn’t cheap. Mr. Pike is traveling to L.A. and New York to conduct interviews, as well as different Texas towns, and spending a considerable amount of time in post production making sure it all looks and sounds good. Documentaries and a lot of work, but with a little help (this is where you come in) the end result could be phenomenal. So we’d like to ask you to please donate a few bucks to this Indiegogo project. Whatever you can swing is good, $5, $10, $25, $30 or more – Devin has cool incentives available as well for those who kick in some dough.

As I write this there is exactly 24 hours left (and undoubtedly as you read this there’s less time than that), so please don’t delay. From what I’ve seen and heard about the project, this is going to be a great production, and one that comes from a strong passion with Devin. We spend money on frivolous things these days, snack foods, phone apps, girl scout cookies, valet parking – why not throw some dollars behind a cool project like this and really help a guy out? Please spread the word and tell your friends, and check out the video below for a taste of what to expect from EVERYTHING DOESN’T SUCK.
