Vampire movies seem to be wearing out their welcome, but there’s always room for a new and innovative take. Director Neil Jordan may just be the one to give it to us. BYZANTIUM (a title that’s sure to create confusion and amusing mis-pronunciation among average moviegoers) stars Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, Sam Riley, Jonny Lee Miller, Caleb Landry Jones, and Danny Mays. Check out the trailer below and see if your cup of tea.

Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara (Gemma Arterton) meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.

BYZANTIUM opens in limited release June 28, 2013
