Last night, if you stayed up and watched the MTV Movie Awards, you saw a few things. You saw Will Ferrell’s money suit (and Aubrey Plaza’s awkward interruption), MARVEL’S THE AVENGER’S cleaning house and the worldwide debut of the teaser trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. If you did miss it, don’t you fret, we have it right here for you.
What I find interesting is that there seems to be a lot of changes from the book, or rather, additions from the book. The book is presented from the point of view of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and you get to experience what she experiences and thinks, but ONLY what she experiences or thinks. The first film did a fairly good job of that, however this time around it appears we are going to see a lot more than what we experienced in the book. A good case in point for this is the conversations you see between President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) in the teaser.
You know what though, don’t take my word for it, check out the trailer below and let us know what you think…
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Cohen, Patrick St. Esprit, Meta Golding, Bruno Gunn, Alan Ritchson, E. Roger Mitchell, Maria Howell, Stephanie Leigh Schlund, Sam Claflin and Jeffrey Wright.
SYNOPSIS: “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is set to hit 2D and IMAX theaters on November 22, 2013.
