MAN OF STEEL trailer is coming. General Zod warns us…..

In 1978, thanks to SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE, the world believed that a man could fly.  No one had ever captured the soul of a character like Christopher Reeve did with Clark Kent / Superman.  The movie was groundbreaking and even to this day remains in the hearts of comic-book fanboys as well as the general movie-going audience as one of the greatest comic-book adaptations ever.  The movie was great for its time and while it may not hold up very well by today’s standards (let’s be honest about that people), it was still a sight to behold.

2006’s SUPERMAN RETURNS tried to recapture the magic of the Donner / Reeve classic and while it was a good film, it lacked what people wanted to see from a Superman movie.  Action, Action, Action with a fresh take and perspective on the beloved character.  Today’s comic-book based movies, to truly succeed, must combine an engaging story, a strong lead surrounded by an even stronger supporting cast, decisive direction and above all, stunning visuals with a villain befitting the hero.  These are stories pulled from the pages of comics that are filled with glorious battles and exciting stories and the movies deserve no less
MAN OF STEEL - TRAILER 3

Enter MAN OF STEEL which looks to bring us the Superman movie we have been screaming for.  Henry Cavill, like Christopher Reeve, is a relatively unknown actor who is surrounded by an extremely strong supportive cast.  Gone are the hokey portrayal of Lex Luthor, the crutch of Kryptonite and above all else, Superman’s illegitimate kid.  What we have is a movie that reintroduces the Kryptonian villains of Zod and Faora (the basis for Ursa in SUPERMAN II) and reintroduces us to Clark Kent as he searches for who he is (an alien living among us) and what his path will be.  The movie promises insane action, a gripping story and, oh yeah, insane action.  From the minds that brought you such comic-book movie greats as THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY, 300 and WATCHMEN, it appears we are in for a cinematic treat come June 14.

The trailer is supposed to be online tonight, however it might be 24 hours (based on the message below) until it gets posted, however a new viral site IWillFindHim has a 48 hour countdown going on (in a Kryptonian language).  The official site has been experiencing some heavy static and now the static has turned to a message.  Here is a message provided on the official site from Superman villain General Zod (Michael Shannon):

So stay tuned for the third trailer for this summer’s MAN OF STEEL. We will post it right below once it is online…..
