The Dallas International Film Festival kicked things off on Thursday evening, April 4, at the new Look Cinemas location in Dallas, TX. The red carpet became the “pink carpet” thanks to sponsor Mary Kay, and actor Kellan Lutz showed up for the premiere of his new movie JAVA HEAT, directed by Conor Allyn and written by Rob Allyn (who were also in attendance). Dallas Film Society CEO Lee Papert and his wife Sarah were also on site, along with Kellan’s girlfriend Sharni Vinson (soon to be seen in Adam Wingard’s YOU’RE NEXT) and young Gracie Whitton (soon to be seen in SCARY MOVIE 5). The opening night extravaganza including showings of JAVA HEAT and KON-TIKI, and was heavily attended by enthusiastic Dallas film fans. Look Cinemas has created a fantastic spot in the DFW area for filmgoers to embrace their fandom. Check out our video from the red… I mean pink carpet, in which we talk to Lee and Sarah Papert, Gracie Whitton, Kellan Lutz, Sharni Vinson, and Conor and Rob Allyn. My thanks to Rachel Parker for shooting and editing this, and everyone at the Dallas Film Society for putting together another great event. The Dallas International Film Festival runs April 4-14, featuring over 175 films with filmmakers and stars in attendance.
