Video interview: THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES director Derek Cianfrance

THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES is a reunion of sorts for director Derek Cianfrance and Ryan Gosling, who previously worked together on BLUE VALENTINE. The new crime drama co-stars Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, Ray Liotta, and the great Ben Mendelsohn, and it’s one of the more ambitious movies to come out in 2013. I had a chance to sit down with Derek and discuss his process, some of the interesting side stories with his actors, and more in a rather candid interview. Check it out below. THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES is a film that will likely be polarizing to some audiences, but it’s definitely worth a look.
