Marvel’s THE AVENGERS – New Banners, Agent Coulson One-Sheet and first clip!

We are now exactly one month away from the official US release of Marvel’s THE AVENGERS in theaters.  (On a quick side note, a friend pointed out that it is quite exciting that THE AVENGERS is coming out on STAR WARS day . . . May the 4th be with you . . .  ok, I thought it was funny)  As we are approaching the release, we can expect a lot more marketing material to be released, especially with reports that Disney has secured an additional $100 million in marketing support for the film, according to Variety.

So first up, we have 10 new character banners courtesy of Wyndham Hotels where they have a mini-site dedictated to trivia and such.  I gotta say, I love all of these with the exception of the Captain America (Chris Evans) one.  The helmet just doesn’t look right.  We’ve seen some live footage and it doesn’t look too bad there, so hopefully we can just write it off to his cowl not being very photogenic….

Next up, from Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) himself via his Twitter account at @ClarkGregg we have a new character poster putting Agent Coulson front and center.

And last, but definitely not least, we have the first clip from THE AVENGERS which features a tied up Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) being interogated by several men, however, she may not actually be the one being interogated…

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.

SYNOPSIS: Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers” is the superhero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS is set to hit 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 4, 2012.
